Overview
VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation, with the recruitment of a Legal Advisor to join their team based in Belfast.
This is a Temporary position initially for a period of 6 months.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice, both orally and in writing, on significant and complex legal issues.
- Interpret and apply legislation, statutory instruments, and other legal documents in advising clients and stakeholders.
- Exercise sound legal judgement and analytical skills in resolving complex legal problems.
- Communicate with clarity and confidence to clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Manage a diverse caseload of litigation within the Northern Ireland court system.
- Represent clients and the organisation at all stages of court proceedings.
- Lead on case management, including strategy, preparation of legal submissions, and evidence gathering.
- Provide legal management and representation at all stages of Judicial review proceedings, Coroner\\\’s inquests, Public inquiries, and Criminal proceedings.
Essential Criteria
- Be a qualified solicitor or barrister licensed to practice in Northern Ireland, holding a current practising certificate (or be eligible to obtain one by the date of appointment).
- Have at least 3 years\\\’ post-qualification experience (PQE) of advising on significant, complex legal issues, including:
- Interpreting legislation and legal documents.
- Demonstrating legal analytical ability and sound judgement in resolving complex legal problems.
- Communicating with clients with clarity and confidence.
- Have at least 3 years\\\’ PQE of managing litigation cases in the Northern Ireland court system, including practical experience of presenting cases at court.
- Have at least 3 years\\\’ PQE of legal management and representation at all stages in one or more of the following areas:
- Judicial review proceedings
- Coroner\\\’s inquests
- Public inquiries
- Criminal proceedings
