Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity with a leading engineering manufacturer. An established and growing engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead mechanical design projects while supporting continuous product improvement and ensuring designs meet the highest engineering and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new products and engineering solutions
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and Bills of Materials
- Manage projects from concept through design, manufacture and implementation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications
- Work closely with production teams to improve manufacturability and resolve technical challenges
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding bespoke engineering requirements
- Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support product development and engineering innovation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to developing engineering best practice
About You
You’ll be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for solving engineering challenges and delivering practical design solutions. Ideally you’ll have:
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Several years’ experience in a mechanical design or product development role
- Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX or similar)
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials
- A background in heavy engineering, fabrication, automotive, special‑purpose machinery or a similar manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
- A practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail
