VANRATH are working in partnership with a growing and very successful construction / engineering business on the appointment of a HSE Officer. This is a full-time permanent position which offers a long-term career with the chance to move upwards in line with their expansion plans.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 3pm
Location: Dundalk – Permanent

In your new role:

  • Provide HSE advice and support to Managers, supervisors, and colleagues for the entire company workforce, subcontracted labour, other site workers, and members of the public.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement and continual improvement.
  • Create & maintain safe systems of work (RAMS etc) and ensure these are being effectively applied, driving continual improvement.
  • Complete/maintain HSE Site, Workshop & Equipment inspections & records.
  • Conduct incident investigations and identify and implement improvement measures.
  • Familiarize yourself with the functions of other staff in the department as they relate to your work.
  • Attend necessary meetings as required.
  • Undertake assigned work professionally and efficiently, in compliance with current HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, and the company\’s Integrated Management Systems.
  • Communicate professionally, helpfully, and non-prejudicially with clients and customers, representing your department and the company appropriately.
  • Behave professionally and cooperate with all staff members.
  • Deliver regular toolbox talks & induction sessions.

What you will need to succeed:

  • NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven HSE experience.
  • Experience working in New Build and M&E construction environments.
  • Experience conducting health and safety audits.
  • Experience with lifting operations and related hazards.

Desired Criteria:

  • Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards it.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it.
