VANRATH are recruiting a Health and Safety Officer to work for a leading Mechanical Contractor, based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Remuneration:
£Competitive DOE + excellent benefits package

Client:
Our client is a leading Mechanical Contractor with a reputation for quality workmanship and reliability. They work on a range of projects across Commercial, Industrial, Leisure, Retail and Healthcare sectors throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. The business has a lot of work on and a strong order book for next year, particularly working on data centre projects. They have a great opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer to join them, based in their offices in Antrim. This role is office based with occasional travel required, 1 or 2 days per month.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the HSE Manager in developing strategies and internal policies to ensure compliance with HSE legislation across all areas in which the business operates
  • Carry out any relevant reporting obligations in line with legislative requirements
  • Investigate incidents to determine and address the root cause
  • Maintain up-to-date records of incidents, training, inspections and other relevant data
  • Continuous monitoring of HSE performance, trend analysis and implementation of improvements to enhance performance
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes
  • Assist the H&S Manager with maintaining the company\’s ISO Management Systems
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate practices into daily operations
  • Respond to employees\’ concerns and implement systems for improvements

Qualifications Required

  • Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Other relevant Health and Safety qualifications
  • Experience working as a Health and Safety Officer
  • Good communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated team player
