An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading equipment and machinery provider. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working independently. You'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of heavy plant and specialist equipment, ensuring customers receive a reliable and responsive service.

The Role

  • Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs both on customer sites and within the workshop when required.
  • Utilise your mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise to minimise downtime and ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair heavy plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Attend customer sites to respond to breakdowns and service requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Support workshop activities when required.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

The Person

  • Previous experience repairing plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs, materials handling equipment, powered access equipment, or similar.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
