This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who is looking for a flexible, part-time position within a genuinely supportive and close-knit team.

While a full professional qualification would be welcomed, our client is equally happy to consider a highly experienced part-qualified accountant or senior accounts technician who has strong practice experience and, importantly, the ability to independently review accounts. The successful candidate will join a growing business where culture is incredibly important, with a friendly, family-like environment and a strong focus on supporting its people.

What You Will Do

  • Independently review accounts prepared by colleagues, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues before accounts are finalised.
  • Prepare accounts from incomplete or client-generated records where required.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Deal with client queries and provide practical accounting advice.
  • Support colleagues with more technical accounting matters.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice.

What's in It for You?

  • Part-time working hours to suit your circumstances.
  • Competitive and generous salary package.
  • Company sick pay.
  • Modern offices in Bangor town centre.
  • Friendly, supportive and family-like working environment.
  • Excellent work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to join a practice experiencing significant month-on-month growth.
  • A role where your experience and judgement will genuinely be valued.

Requirements

  • Qualified, part-qualified or an experienced AAT/IATI-level accounts professional.
  • Strong previous experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Significant experience preparing accounts for a portfolio of SME clients.
  • Proven ability to review accounts independently is essential.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Confident dealing directly with clients.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a close-knit team.
  • A professional qualification is desirable but is not essential for the right candidate.
  • Experience supervising or reviewing the work of others would be advantageous.
