An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Asset Manager to join a major operational environment in the Antrim area. This is a key role within the Engineering function, responsible for strategically managing the full lifecycle of Mechanical & Electrical assets, ensuring the right balance between performance, cost, risk and compliance. You will play a central role in developing asset strategies, managing budgets and contractors, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance across a critical operational environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of the M&E asset portfolio and work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure assets remain safe, reliable, compliant and fit for purpose. Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing M&E asset lifecycle strategies across the asset portfolio.
- Managing budgets, forecasting and financial controls to ensure effective use of resources.
- Acting as the key M&E contact for internal stakeholders and translating business requirements into effective engineering solutions.
- Maintaining a detailed understanding of the asset base, including condition, age, location and criticality.
- Leading, mentoring and developing the internal M&E team.
- Managing key M&E contracts, including tendering, negotiation and ongoing performance management.
- Managing contractor performance and driving improvements in service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety, fire, aviation, security and regulatory requirements.
- Developing a strong safety-first culture across the M&E function.
- Working closely with engineering planning teams to coordinate both internal and outsourced works.
- Identifying and managing asset-related risks and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Developing internal technical capability through training, mentoring and professional development.
- Supporting emergency response activities and participating in relevant emergency exercises.
- Driving continuous improvement across M&E assets, processes and service provision.
About You
We are looking for an experienced M&E / Engineering professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, leadership and strategic asset management capability. You should be able to demonstrate:
- Strong experience within Mechanical & Electrical engineering or asset management.
- Experience managing engineering assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Previous experience managing contractors and service providers.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a complex operational environment.
