Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in utilities, boilers, refrigeration or site services? We're recruiting for a Site Services Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing business in Dungannon. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll take responsibility for maintaining critical site services and utilities that keep production running efficiently.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Production teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of essential plant and utility systems while driving continuous improvement across site.

The Role

As the Site Services Engineer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and improvement of the site's utility services, coordinating contractors, supporting maintenance activities and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and service site utilities including steam boilers, refrigeration systems and plant rooms
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site services equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs to minimise downtime
  • Coordinate and manage external service contractors
  • Monitor utility consumption and support energy improvement projects
  • Perform pipefitting, welding and mechanical maintenance activities
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, water, vacuum and fluid transfer systems
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the site's effluent treatment plant
  • Work on mechanical drive systems, pneumatics and associated equipment
  • Provide technical support to production teams where required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

About You

Essential

  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of four years' industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical and plumbing skills
  • Experience working with steam generation systems
  • Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems
  • Experience maintaining effluent treatment plant equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads

Desirable

  • Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical transmission systems
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required
