About you
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing health and safety within food manufacturing or industrial environments
- Used to the pace and the diverse risk profile
- Strong knowledge of UK and NI health and safety legislation
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven leadership and people management abilities
- Relevant third-level qualification
- Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of SMETA and ethical trading standards
- Previous operational experience within the food manufacturing sector
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards
What you'll do
- Lead and optimise the site's health and safety management system, ensuring ISO 45001 compliance
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Monitor safety performance through KPIs, developing improvement strategies
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and prepare for external inspections and audits
- Manage contractor safety standards and oversee permit-to-work procedures
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as HSENI and HSE
- Develop and test emergency response plans through regular drills
- Support operational teams on risk mitigation, safe systems of work, and statutory compliance
- Drive safety communication, training, and culture enhancement initiatives
