The Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you'll support the design and development of engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll produce 3D models, manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation while contributing to product improvements and new product development. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious graduate looking to develop their technical skills within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
- Assist in creating manufacturing drawings and engineering bills of materials (BOMs)
- Support product development and continuous improvement projects
- Investigate engineering issues and identify effective root cause solutions
- Work closely with Production, Manufacturing, Quality and Service teams
- Support engineering change processes
- Contribute to prototype development, testing and design for manufacture
- Ensure designs comply with company engineering standards
What We're Looking For
- Essential Degree (2:2 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
- Good understanding of engineering principles
- Experience using 3D CAD software
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Good IT and numerical skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively within a team
Desirable
- Experience using Creo/Pro-Engineer
- Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Strong Excel skills
