My client, an innovative technology company specialising in sustainability, building automation, and enterprise software solutions, is hiring a Head of Project Management to lead a portfolio of customer implementation projects, engineering initiatives, and strategic business programmes. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing project, programme, and portfolio delivery across a range of technical and operational workstreams. The role will focus on helping large multi-site organisations improve asset performance, energy management, operational efficiency, and compliance through technology-driven solutions.

You will be responsible for establishing robust project governance frameworks, managing portfolio priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Product Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Operations, you will align project execution with business objectives while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As Head of Project Management, you will oversee project intake, prioritisation, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and portfolio reporting. You will lead governance forums, mentor Project Managers, and ensure best practice project delivery across both capital and operational expenditure programmes.

The Person

  • Significant experience in portfolio, programme, or project management within a related industry
  • Proven track record delivering complex technical, operational, and capital investment projects
  • Experience operating within PMO structures and project governance frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
  • Excellent financial and commercial acumen, including budget ownership and investment planning
  • Experience managing project portfolios, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience using project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop project management teams

Desirable Experience

  • Facilities Management, Building Services, HVAC, Energy Management, or related sector experience
  • Knowledge of Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and/or Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives
  • Experience working with retail, hospitality, food production, or multi-site operational environments
  • Relevant certifications such as MoP, PfMP, PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or engineering qualifications
  • Understanding of industrial automation, manufacturing systems, and asset lifecycle management
  • Experience within high-growth, scale-up, or venture-backed organisations
