VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading international professional services firm to recruit a Tax Accounting Director to join their growing team in Dublin or Belfast. This is a key leadership opportunity within a high-performing international tax practice, working with a broad portfolio of multinational clients across Ireland and globally. This role will suit a commercially minded tax professional with deep expertise in tax accounting, provisions and deferred tax, combined with strong client leadership skills.
You will play a central role in advising multinational groups navigating complex global tax reporting requirements, while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
This Director position sits within an expanding international tax team, supporting multinational organisations on complex tax accounting and reporting matters. The role blends technical delivery with strategic advisory, providing insight on global tax developments and their impact on financial reporting. You will work closely with partners and senior stakeholders, leading client engagements, driving technical excellence and supporting the growth of the team across Dublin and Belfast.
What You Will Do
- Lead advisory and compliance engagements for multinational clients across tax accounting and global reporting
- Provide expert guidance on tax provisions, deferred tax and complex accounting treatments
- Advise on global tax reporting frameworks including US GAAP and IFRS
- Partner with senior finance and tax stakeholders within multinational organisations
- Provide insight on the tax accounting implications of international tax developments
- Drive a strong client service offering, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the practice
- Mentor, develop and lead a high-performing team

Requirements
- Extensive experience in tax accounting including provisions and deferred tax
- Strong exposure to multinational organisations and complex group structures
- Experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting frameworks
- Background in practice or industry, ideally within a top-tier or large corporate environment
- ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong commercial acumen and client relationship skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams
- Ambitious, with a desire to contribute to a growing practice
