A leading global manufacturer is looking to appoint a Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team based in Campsie. Working within an innovative product development environment, you'll play a key role in designing and developing industry‑leading machinery, supporting both new product introduction and continuous improvement of existing equipment. The Role
- Reporting to the Product Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical engineering solutions that deliver high‑quality, reliable products for customers worldwide.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop new products and enhancements to existing machinery
- Produce 3D models, drawings and engineering documentation using CAD software
- Support product development from concept through to production
- Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to improve product performance and reduce production costs
- Participate in prototype development, testing and product validation
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements and safety regulations
- Investigate and resolve technical issues and customer feedback
- Provide technical support to production, aftersales and dealer networks
- Keep up to date with industry developments, emerging technologies and competitor products
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing
About You
- We're keen to speak with Design Engineers who have:
- Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a mechanical design role within manufacturing
- Strong 3D CAD experience (Creo preferred but other leading CAD packages considered)
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles and hydraulic systems
- Experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical engineering mindset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach and desire to continuously improve products and processes
