As demand for sustainable energy solutions continues to rise, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support the company's ongoing growth across its portfolio of Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging infrastructure projects.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, the Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying new revenue opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and supporting clients through the full sales lifecycle. You will work closely with prospective customers to understand their energy requirements, provide expert guidance on renewable technologies, and develop bespoke proposals that align with their operational and sustainability objectives. This position combines relationship management, consultative selling, and market development, making it ideal for an ambitious business development professional seeking to make an impact within a rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across renewable energy solutions including Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging technologies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers across both residential and commercial markets.
  • Manage a combination of existing opportunities and self-generated leads to maximise sales growth.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site assessments and discovery sessions to understand client requirements.
  • Produce tailored commercial proposals, quotations and solution recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales through to project implementation and completion.
  • Represent the business at industry exhibitions, networking events and other market engagement activities.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activity and emerging technologies to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a consultative approach throughout the customer journey, ensuring a high standard of service and client satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in business development, sales management, account management or a customer-facing commercial role.
  • Background within renewable energy, electrical services or a related technical industry.
  • Strong ability to identify market opportunities and convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a regional territory with minimal supervision.
  • Genuine interest in sustainability, renewable technologies and the transition to cleaner energy solutions.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
