VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading global manufacturer to recruit a Process Engineer for their expanding engineering team in Campsie. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business investing heavily in new products, manufacturing capability and continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency and supporting new product introduction within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure production operates safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams, you'll identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and operational performance.
  • Support production by resolving manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions and build packs.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques including 5S, Line Balancing and Poka-Yoke.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health and safety standards.
  • Analyse production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to the manufacturing operation.

About You

We're looking for a proactive engineer who enjoys problem-solving and driving process improvements within a manufacturing environment. You'll ideally have:

  • HNC/HND (or higher) in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Previous experience within a Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement role.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Oracle experience advantageous).
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machining or heavy manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using 3D CAD or modelling software.
  • Previous involvement in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) or New Product Introduction (NPI).
