VANRATH is delighted to be working with a highly regarded accountancy firm to recruit an ambitious Chartered Accountant to join its Corporate Finance team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant, ideally with around one year's post-qualification experience, who is looking to build a serious career in Corporate Finance. The successful candidate will join a high-performing team working on complex and high-value transactions, with genuine exposure to business owners, investors and senior decision-makers. This is not a role where you will simply support from the sidelines - you will be encouraged to take ownership, develop strong client relationships and become actively involved in some of the most significant transactions in the local market. With close support from an experienced Corporate Finance Partner and a clear pathway towards Director, this is an opportunity for someone ambitious who wants to build a long-term career in deal advisory. The Role You will work across a broad range of Corporate Finance assignments, gaining exposure to the full transaction lifecycle and working closely with clients from initial discussions through to completion. The role will suit someone commercially minded, confident dealing with people and genuinely interested in understanding how businesses operate, grow and create value. You will be given the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while becoming increasingly involved in client management, transaction strategy and business development. What You Will Do Work on a diverse range of Corporate Finance transactions including M&A, acquisitions, disposals, fundraising and strategic advisory projects. Take an active role in significant transactions from initial engagement through to completion. Build and analyse detailed financial models to support transaction decisions and valuations. Undertake financial analysis and due diligence, identifying key commercial issues and opportunities. Work directly with business owners, management teams, investors and senior stakeholders. Develop a strong understanding of clients, their businesses and their strategic objectives. Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and transaction documentation. Support negotiations and transaction execution alongside senior team members. Contribute to business development activity, pitches and new client opportunities. Develop your own network and reputation within the local Corporate Finance market. Work closely with the Corporate Finance Partner and wider team, taking increasing responsibility as your experience develops. What's in It for You Exposure to high-value and complex Corporate Finance transactions. Direct involvement with business owners, entrepreneurs, investors and senior stakeholders. The opportunity to work on deals that genuinely shape local and regional businesses. Broad exposure across M&A, valuations, due diligence, fundraising and strategic advisory. Significant client contact from an early stage in your career. Close mentoring and development from an experienced Corporate Finance Partner. A clear and achievable route towards Director for the right individual. The opportunity to build a strong profile within the Northern Ireland Corporate Finance market. A collaborative, high-performing team where ambition and commercial thinking are encouraged. A role offering genuine responsibility rather than simply technical delivery. Requirements ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant. Ideally around one year's post-qualification experience, although relevant experience will be considered. Previous experience within Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Audit or a closely related practice environment. Strong analytical and financial modelling capability. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Commercially minded with a genuine interest in businesses, transactions and deal-making. Confident working with senior stakeholders and building trusted client relationships. Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger commercial picture. Ambitious, driven and keen to progress within Corporate Finance. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. The personality and confidence to become a trusted adviser to clients over time. This is an opportunity for an ambitious newly qualified or recently qualified accountant who wants to move beyond traditional accountancy and build a career around transactions, clients and commercial decision-making.
