VANRATH is working with one of the UK and Ireland's largest and most diverse electrical and mechanical engineering companies on the recruitment of a Stores Manager (Engineering) for their Cookstown operation. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a busy, fast growing business.
Working closely with the Electrical Contracts Department and suppliers, you will keep projects running efficiently by making sure materials are ordered, delivered and managed to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of service. It will suit someone organised and detail focused who enjoys keeping a busy stores and purchasing function ticking over.
Full time, permanent Cookstown based 38 to 42 hours per week, with Monday to Friday and weekend overtime available. Weekly pay.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Source, purchase and organise the materials needed for electrical projects, working closely with the Electrical Contracts Department.
- Raise and manage purchase orders and call-off orders with suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers to keep deliveries on time to customer sites and the engineering stores.
- Track supplier lead times and deliveries, meeting or improving agreed schedules.
- Receive and inspect incoming goods, checking quantity and quality against delivery documentation.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and keep the engineering stores well organised.
- Keep purchasing and inventory records accurate on company systems.
- Carry out regular stock checks and report any shortages or discrepancies.
- Support continuous improvement across stores organisation and purchasing processes.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and health and safety within the stores.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience in a stores, inventory, purchasing or warehouse role preferred but not essential. Experience within the electrical engineering industry would be an advantage. Well organised with strong attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. General IT literacy and confidence using purchasing or stock management systems. Full driving licence preferred but not essential.
