Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function across financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance and process improvement activities. About you Qualified Accounts Technician (ATI, AAT or equivalent) or Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA At least 3 years' experience in a similar finance role Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders Highly organised with strong attention to detail Commercially aware with a proactive approach to improving processes Nice to Have Skills Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment Experience preparing VAT, Intrastat or other statutory returns Exposure to month-end and year-end accounting processes Experience supporting audits and compliance requirements Preferred Education and Experience Qualified Accounts Technician or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification Strong working knowledge of financial controls and accounting principles What you'll do Support sales ledger, purchase ledger, banking and general finance activities across the business Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding queries Review general ledger postings and assist with maintaining accurate financial records Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets, stock, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances Calculate and post journals including depreciation, amortisation and accruals Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes Support the preparation of VAT, Intrastat and other statutory returns Assist with external audit requirements and preparation of supporting documentation Contribute to KPI reporting and analysis to support finance team performance Identify opportunities for process improvements and support finance transformation initiatives Provide support to the Financial Controller and wider finance leadership team on ad hoc projects and reporting requirements For further information on this opportunity, apply via the link or contact the VANRATH office for a confidential discussion today.
