My client, a global leader in technology and financial services, is hiring a

Software Engineer to join a newly formed engineering team based in Belfast.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major technology transformation programme, building a next-generation cloud-native platform in partnership with a leading global cloud provider.

You will be part of a global engineering team delivering innovative technology solutions that support critical business operations.

As a

Software Engineer , you will contribute to the design, development and testing of robust software solutions, with a particular focus on back-end services and APIs using C# and .

NET .

You will work within a cloud-based distributed architecture and have the opportunity to develop your expertise across AWS, Infrastructure as Code and modern software engineering practices.

You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to solution design, Agile delivery, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

The role also provides the opportunity to broaden your technical skill set and develop T-shaped engineering capabilities across different areas of the platform.

  • Familiarity with

Graph QL .

  • Experience working within technical platform teams delivering reusable services across multiple projects .
  • Experience working with

Git and modern version control practices .

  • Understanding of cloud-based distributed architectures .
  • Experience or interest in

AWS and cloud-native technologies.

  • Experience with or willingness to work with

AWS CDK / Infrastructure as Code , with Python preferred.

  • Ability to work closely with

Business Analysts and Product Owners to understand requirements and constructively challenge assumptions.

  • Strong understanding of unit testing and automated testing .
  • Experience working within an

Agile/Scrum environment .

  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and design decisions clearly.
  • Understanding of modern front-end technologies, including

CSS preprocessors such as Tailwind .

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable

  • Knowledge or experience within financial services or financial markets .
  • Understanding of

OTC products or regulatory-driven projects .

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects .
  • Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale technology transformation programmes.
