The Role
VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation to appoint a Business Support Officer based in Downpatrick on a short-term interim contract. The successful post holder will provide a comprehensive and flexible administrative service across a range of Council departments, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational support are delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality administrative and secretarial support to multiple Council Officers and teams.
- Act as a first point of contact for internal and external queries, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Process and record applications, financial transactions, and correspondence in line with approved procedures.
- Support meetings including preparation of agendas, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with data protection requirements.
- Assist in the organisation of departmental projects and events as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven administrative experience within a busy office environment, ideally within the public sector.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
