Vulnerability Management Contractor Belfast | Hybrid Daily Rate, inside IR35: 400-600 DOE| Contract Initial 3-6 months | ASAP Start VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Vulnerability Management professional to join a leading organisation on an initial contract basis. This is a hands-on vulnerability management position, focused on identifying, managing and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across the organisation's technology estate. The successful candidate will have strong experience working with vulnerability management platforms, interpreting vulnerability findings and working closely with infrastructure, application and other technical resolver groups to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated within agreed timescales. The role As a Vulnerability Management Contractor, you will play a key role in managing the vulnerability lifecycle from identification through to remediation. You will work closely with technical teams across the organisation, providing clear information on vulnerabilities, supporting prioritisation and helping resolver groups understand what needs to be addressed. Your responsibilities will include: Managing and monitoring vulnerability findings across the technology estate Using enterprise vulnerability management tooling to identify and assess vulnerabilities Analysing vulnerability findings and supporting risk-based prioritisation Working with infrastructure, application and other technical teams to drive remediation Engaging with resolver groups to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed within agreed timescales Tracking remediation progress and following up on outstanding vulnerabilities Escalating overdue or high-risk vulnerabilities where required Providing clear reporting on vulnerability and remediation status Supporting technical teams with guidance around vulnerability remediation Identifying recurring issues and opportunities to improve the vulnerability management process Working collaboratively across security, infrastructure and service delivery teams What we're looking for We're looking for someone with practical, hands-on vulnerability management experience rather than someone whose background is primarily governance, risk or compliance. You'll ideally have experience across several of the following: Vulnerability management within a complex enterprise environment Enterprise vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7 or Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management Vulnerability assessment and prioritisation CVE / CVSS and vulnerability risk Vulnerability remediation and tracking Working with infrastructure and application resolver groups Managing remediation deadlines / SLAs Producing vulnerability and remediation reporting Working across Windows, Linux, network, cloud and/or application environments ServiceNow or similar ITSM/workflow platforms Experience with a particular vulnerability management platform is useful, but strong practical vulnerability management experience and the ability to transfer between tools is more important. The person This role would suit someone who is comfortable getting into the detail of vulnerability findings and, importantly, getting things fixed. You'll be confident communicating with different technical teams, explaining vulnerabilities clearly and following issues through from identification to remediation. You'll be organised and persistent, comfortable managing a backlog of vulnerabilities and confident challenging teams when remediation isn't progressing as expected. This is not primarily a strategic cyber security or GRC position. The successful candidate will be someone who has hands-on experience managing vulnerability programmes and working with technical resolver groups to drive remediation.
