We're recruiting for a Transport Line Manager to join a busy distribution site where you'll play a key role in leading transport operations, developing your team and ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of goods across the network. The Role
As Transport Line Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of a busy transport operation, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, legally and on time while maintaining high operational standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and developing a large team of drivers and transport colleagues
- Managing daily transport operations to maximise efficiency and customer service
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, tachograph regulations and Health & Safety requirements
- Monitoring operational performance through KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Managing departmental budgets, payroll and resource planning
- Building strong working relationships across transport, warehouse and wider operational teams
- Supporting strategic initiatives to improve service, efficiency and overall operational performance
About You
You'll be an experienced transport professional with a proven track record of managing teams within a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment. You'll ideally have:
- A valid Transport Manager CPC (National & International)
- At least 3 years' experience working within a national logistics or distribution operation
- Experience managing transport teams in a high-volume, customer-focused environment
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, tachographs, Health & Safety and HACCP
- Experience managing KPIs, budgets and operational performance
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (experience with Stratum or CSNX would be advantageous)
