This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Healthcare Trust where you will be working Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week (part time may be considered). The role is ongoing and there could be scope for a permanent opportunity for the right person.
A bit about the role: The Clinical Coding Department is responsible for the collection of data on diagnosis and procedures for all the inpatient activity. The candidate will be educated to GCSE level or above, will have good background knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. The job requires an enthusiastic, adaptable person with a methodical approach and high attention to detail. You will be responsible for abstracting and analysing complex clinical information from patients records and translate this into a coded format in line with National Standards.
A bit about you (essential criteria):
- Clinical Coding experience is essential
- Clinical Coding Standards Course is essential
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology
- Knowledge of SNOMED CT is desirable
- Educated to GCSE including Maths and English
- Desirable GCSE Biology
- ECDL or computer proficiency certificate
Salary: £27,485 - £30,162 per annum (+ Enhanced annual leave entitlement + pension scheme)
