My client, a leading provider of managed IT services, is hiring a Senior IT Field Delivery Engineer to join an established field-based team. This role involves providing on-site IT support to a diverse customer base, ensuring high service standards and SLA compliance across hardware, software, and network environments. This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced field engineer who enjoys autonomy, customer interaction, and working across varied technical environments.

You will be part of a customer-focused technical team delivering critical IT support services across multiple client sites. The organisation places strong emphasis on service quality, efficiency, and professional development.
The Role
As a Senior IT Field Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for advanced fault diagnosis, repair, and replacement of IT equipment, as well as supporting installations and ongoing service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing PCs, laptops, printers, servers, networking and peripheral equipment
- Completing system rebuilds and desk-side configurations
- Delivering IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities with minimal supervision
- Acting as a senior escalation point and mentoring junior engineers
- Covering sites during planned or unplanned absences
- Managing workload via mobile tools and providing real-time updates
- Communicating effectively with scheduling and management teams to meet SLA commitments
- Participating in on-call rota for 24/7 service coverage
- Following operational processes, health & safety guidelines, and customer policies
- Maintaining company equipment and assets
The Person
The ideal candidate will have strong field engineering experience and excellent customer-facing skills.
Essential:
- Proven experience in an IT field support role
- Full UK driving licence (You will be provided a van by the organisation which can be used for work/personal use)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Solid knowledge of Windows-based environments
- Experience supporting hardware, networking, and peripheral devices
- CompTIA A+ and Server+ (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness and ability to obtain required security clearance. Must either hold SC security clearance or have the willingness to be SC cleared
Desirable:
- Experience working in environments with strict SLAs
- Exposure to mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Additional technical certifications
- Experience working at height and undertaking manual handling
