Our client is a well-established and growing corporate insurance brokerage headquartered in Belfast. What began as a boutique advisory firm has evolved into a trusted partner for medium to corporate businesses across Northern Ireland and GB. Known for its relationship-led approach, technical expertise, and strong insurer partnerships, the business supports clients across a wide range of commercial sectors. As part of its continued growth strategy, the firm is now seeking an experienced Senior Broker to join its corporate broking team. This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you will take ownership of key relationships, deliver tailored insurance solutions, and contribute directly to the growth and reputation of the brokerage. The position plays a central role in driving new business, retaining existing clients, and mentoring junior team members.
The Role
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced insurance broker who thrives in a fast-paced, consultative environment and enjoys building long-term client relationships. You will manage a portfolio of corporate clients while actively identifying and converting new business opportunities. Working closely with Director and Senior Account Executives, you will ensure clients receive a seamless, high-quality service from initial engagement through renewal and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate insurance clients, acting as a trusted advisor on risk and insurance solutions.
- Identify, source, and convert new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and proactive prospecting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and present tailored insurance programmes, renewal strategies, and risk presentations.
- Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and appropriate coverage.
- Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking functions to enhance visibility and generate opportunities.
- Work closely with Account Executives and support teams to ensure smooth onboarding, renewals, and ongoing servicing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using CRM and internal systems.
- Meet or exceed agreed performance targets and contribute to the firm's growth strategy.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet client and business demands when required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Broker or Senior Broker within an insurance brokerage.
- Strong technical knowledge of either commercial or corporate insurance products.
- Demonstrable track record of managing client relationships.
- Commercially astute with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
Desirable
- Established network within the Northern Ireland and/or UK business community.
- Professional insurance qualifications (Cert CII, Dip CII, or working towards ACII).
- Experience working with SME or mid-market corporate clients.
