The Role
This is a wide-ranging pre-construction role requiring involvement from early-stage surveys, feasibility studies, and budgeting, through to value engineering and tender submission. The position offers scope to develop into a project management role on local and RoI-based projects, depending on experience and ambition.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets, undertaking site surveys and feasibility assessments, contributing to value engineering exercises, preparing and submitting tenders, and supporting commercial and technical discussions with clients and design teams.
- You will work closely with internal teams to identify opportunities, support business development activity, and help shape project solutions from concept through to construction.
The Ideal Person
- Minimum 10+ years' estimating experience within construction or a related sector
- Comfortable using surveying equipment
- Commercially astute with the ability to react quickly and seize opportunities
- Outgoing personality with the ability to upsell and build strong client relationships
- Full driving licence and valid passport
- No previous natural stone experience required (full training provided)
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in Quantity Surveying
- Experience in Contract Management
- Previous involvement in pre-construction or commercial functions
Remuneration
£55,000 - £65,000 DOE plus increased holiday allowance, pension scheme, private healthcare, gym membership, and long-term career development opportunities.
