The Opportunity: Due to continued growth, the Company is seeking an ambitious Senior Cost Manager to join their Belfast office and support the growth of the business and continued delivery of high level of service to their diverse Client base. The Cost and Commercial Management teams work across a variety of sectors, offering the chance to work on a wide variety of interesting and stimulating projects with no sector boundaries while being supported with further training and development that creates the perfect environment in which to progress your career. Working within a dedicated and dynamic cost team and reporting directly into Associate Directors and Directors (Belfast), this is an exciting opportunity to work directly with repeat clients and project teams on a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of cost estimates and cost plans
- Procurement advice, preparation of tender documentation (including Bills of Quantities)
- Tender analysis and recommendation reporting
- Contract administration and commercial management
- Valuations and payment assessments
- Change control and cost reporting
- Risk management and value engineering
- Final account negotiation and agreement
- Stakeholder engagement and client liaison
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality consultancy services across multiple projects and sectors
- Contributing to business development initiatives and the development of long-term client relationships
The Ideal Person:
- Degree qualified MRICS preferred, but not essential. Other professional qualifications or memberships desirable.
- The Company will support the training required to gain your professional qualification
- Pre and post contract experience
- Experience of working under construction contract terms and conditions, preferably JCT, NEC or similar
- Previous experience working within a consultancy environment strongly desirable
- Able to work on own initiative
- A strategic thinker with broad problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a client focused environment with a personal commitment to the delivery of excellent client service
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of market issues and events and their impact
- Positive attitude with a willingness to get involved in business initiatives
- Experience of Microsoft platforms (CostX experience an advantage)
- Proven Leadership skills providing guidance and advice to team members in their work and professional development
- Can work closely with internal teams, Clients, and project teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
- Demonstrate a strong track record of business development and fee management
- Cross sector experience (desirable)
