My client, a leading organisation operating critical infrastructure across Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join their Digital Innovation team. You will join a collaborative team delivering one of the organisation's most significant digital transformation programmes. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and third-party suppliers, you will help define future business processes, gather and document requirements, and ensure new technology solutions meet strategic business objectives. The role offers exposure to enterprise applications, cloud platforms, operational systems, data analytics, and large-scale business change within a highly regulated environment.
The Role
As a Senior Business Analyst you will:
- Lead business analysis activities across multiple transformation initiatives.
- Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to define business needs.
- Translate complex business requirements into structured specifications for technical delivery teams.
- Produce Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process maps, business process models and functional specifications.
- Support business case development and solution option analysis.
- Work with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver business solutions.
- Identify project risks, issues and dependencies and communicate these effectively.
- Support requirements prioritisation and governance through formal sign-off.
- Contribute to solution design, ensuring cross-system impacts are considered.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), implementation planning and change management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance business processes and ways of working.
The Person
Significant experience as a Business Analyst delivering technology or digital transformation projects. Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements. Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with senior stakeholders. Excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical documentation. Experience with process mapping, business process modelling and requirements documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working within governance and change control frameworks.
Desirable
Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure or other highly regulated industries. Experience working with enterprise applications, cloud technologies or data-driven platforms.
