VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with one of Northern Ireland's most iconic visitor attractions to recruit a Sales Manager on a permanent basis. Based in Belfast (with travel across multiple venues), this is a rare opportunity to join a world class attraction and take ownership of its B2B leisure sales activity across domestic and international markets.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Opportunities Manager, the Sales Manager will work with travel trade partners across the world to drive group, FIT and OTA business, nurturing existing relationships and developing new opportunities. As the first point of contact for all travel trade, you will be an ambassador for the attraction, promoting the venue on both a domestic and international level and working closely with city tourism agencies and industry partners. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Leisure Sales Team, you will drive B2B leisure sales to meet visitor number and revenue targets from key markets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the creation and delivery of the leisure sales strategy to drive sales and meet KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Managing proactive leisure sales plans across domestic, national and international markets to drive tour operator and adhoc group business.
  • Leading and managing direct reports within the leisure sales team on a day-to-day basis, providing motivation, direction and support.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with tour operators, group travel organisers, destination management companies, online travel agents, ground handlers and tourism agencies.
  • Representing the attraction at trade shows, site show rounds, sales calls, FAM trips and network events across all target markets.
  • Driving international visitor numbers from key markets including ROI, GB, USA, France, Germany and Asia.
  • Delivering face-to-face presentations to tour group, coach and cruise operators to generate and contract new business.
  • Managing and monitoring the venue's volume-based pricing strategy for tour operators.
  • Working alongside the marketing and digital teams to develop impactful collateral and content that drives new enquiries and revenue.
  • Assisting with the departmental budget for tradeshows and promotional activity, and contributing to reporting and business planning.

The Ideal Person

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 year's business sales experience within Travel, Leisure, Tourism or related sector.
  • Previous management experience of a small team would be ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of the tourism industry, its stakeholders and partners would be ideal.
  • Open to candidates from wider sectors providing you can demonstrate good sales experience.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Solutions focused, with the ability to work calmly under pressure and a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, nationally and internationally as required.

Desirable competencies:

  • Creative and innovative thinking with strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines.
  • Proven people management and team leadership qualities.
