Lead Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of the company's Quality and Environmental Management Systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards while driving continuous improvement across the business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting environmental compliance and promoting best practice across the manufacturing operation.
The Role
As Quality & Environmental Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the company's quality management function, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations while maintaining compliance with ISO standards, environmental legislation and chemical management procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards and relevant environmental legislation.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring any corrective actions are completed effectively.
- Monitor product quality across the business, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Analyse quality performance and implement initiatives to enhance manufacturing standards.
- Manage chemical compliance, ensuring safe handling, storage and documentation.
- Take ownership of COSHH compliance, including risk assessments and maintaining accurate records.
- Investigate quality and environmental non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Produce reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Support the development of quality awareness throughout the business through coaching and training.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager with a strong understanding of quality systems, compliance and manufacturing processes. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards and environmental compliance.
- Experience managing quality systems, audits and non-conformance investigations.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and chemical management.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
Desirable Qualifications
- Practical experience in Chemistry, Metallurgy or another relevant technical discipline.
- Experience within powder coating, galvanising, chemical processing or metal finishing industries.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
