VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join a leading high-tech manufacturing business in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of a technical production team, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising, developing and motivating the team, while working closely with Production, Engineering and Administration functions to ensure production targets and customer requirements are met.
The Role
- Lead and supervise a production team on a daily basis, providing clear direction and support.
- Allocate and delegate work to ensure production activities are completed efficiently.
- Monitor team output, performance and key production metrics.
- Provide guidance, coaching and training to team members.
- Act as the first point of contact for production staff, supporting day-to-day issues and queries.
- Liaise with Engineering, Production Administration and other internal teams regarding work progress and lead times.
- Provide regular updates on production activity and performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency and internal procedures.
- Work closely with the Production Manager to develop the team and support business growth.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and can-do culture across the production environment.
- Ensure a strong focus on quality, productivity and meeting customer requirements.
About You
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supervising, leading or supporting a technical production team.
- Experience providing training, coaching and development to technical staff.
- HNC/HND level qualification or equivalent with 3+ years' relevant experience in a high-tech production environment; or ONC/OND level or equivalent with 5+ years' relevant experience.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- The ability to motivate and develop a team while maintaining a strong focus on performance and quality.
