VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading firm to recruit a Private Client Tax Manager / Assistant Manager into a high-performing Private Tax team in Belfast. This is a newly created role, driven by sustained growth across the wider tax practice, supporting a diverse client base ranging from multinational groups through to well-established local Northern Ireland businesses. The Private Tax team has a strong reputation for quality advisory work and has recently secured a significant new portfolio of high-net-worth individuals through trusted relationships at Director level. The firm can also accommodate a four day working week.
The Role
This is a client-facing, advisory-focused opportunity within Private Client Tax. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver planning-led solutions for high-value individuals and family groups, with a particular emphasis on inheritance tax planning, owner-managed businesses, and family trust structures.
What You Will Do
- Deliver high-quality advisory work across private client tax matters, with a focus on IHT planning, wealth structuring and succession planning.
- Support and develop relationships with a newly won portfolio of high-net-worth clients, ensuring exceptional client service and trusted adviser status.
- Work collaboratively with senior tax leaders and other specialist teams across the wider tax practice to provide joined-up advice.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the private client offering through client engagement, proactive idea generation and strong technical input.
- Coach and support junior team members (where relevant), helping to build capability and strengthen delivery.

Requirements
- CTA / ACA / ACCA / ATT qualified (or qualified by experience with strong advisory exposure).
- Experience in Private Client Tax / Personal Tax advisory, ideally including IHT planning, trusts and succession/wealth planning.
- Strong client-facing ability with confidence building relationships and communicating advice clearly.
- Commercial mindset and genuine interest in developing your advisory skillset further.
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a professional services environment.
