A well-regarded Planning & Environmental team is looking to appoint a Solicitor to support its growing practice across Northern Ireland and Ireland. The team advises on a wide range of complex and high-profile matters, including major infrastructure and energy projects, as well as contentious planning and environmental issues. This role is open to solicitors at any stage of post-qualification experience who have an interest in planning and environmental law. The position offers high-quality work, early responsibility and excellent long-term development within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on planning and environmental matters across both contentious and non-contentious workstreams
- Supporting major infrastructure, energy and renewable development projects
- Providing strategic advice on planning permissions, environmental impact assessments, regulatory compliance and enforcement
- Drafting and reviewing legal documentation, regulatory submissions and litigation materials
- Liaising with clients, regulators, counsel and other stakeholders to deliver commercially focused advice
- Working closely with colleagues across related practice areas, including energy, infrastructure and real estate
- Contributing to business development, client relationships and the continued growth of the team
About You
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland (or eligible to qualify)
- Demonstrable interest in planning, environmental or regulatory law
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial, proactive and collaborative approach
Desirable (depending on level):
- Experience advising on planning or environmental matters, including infrastructure, renewable energy or permitting
- Exposure to contentious planning or environmental disputes
- Familiarity with cross-border or multi-jurisdictional planning and environmental issues
