About the Role

VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a respected Belfast law firm in the recruitment of a Litigation Paralegal, with a particular focus on Road Traffic Accident (RTA) and Personal Injury claims. This interim role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal to support a busy litigation team handling RTA cases from instruction through to settlement. The position will suit someone confident in managing case files, liaising with clients, and ensuring all documents and deadlines are handled efficiently within a professional legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist solicitors in managing a caseload of RTA and personal injury litigation files.
  • Draft legal documents, witness statements, correspondence, and instructions to counsel.
  • Liaise directly with clients, insurers, medical experts, and third parties.
  • Obtain and review medical reports, calculate damages, and support settlement discussions.
  • Prepare hearing bundles, file court documents, and ensure compliance with all procedural deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate file notes and case management system updates.
  • Provide general administrative and legal support to the wider litigation team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 1-2 years' experience working within a litigation or personal injury team (essential).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of RTA claims processes - both pre-litigation and post-litigation.
  • Excellent communication and client-care skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Professional, proactive, and able to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
