Maintenance Engineer Lisburn | Permanent | Β£51,000 + Excellent Benefits A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading FMCG manufacturing operation in Lisburn. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team, working on a range of PLC-controlled production and packaging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of production equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring the smooth running of the manufacturing operation. Your responsibilities will include: Diagnosing and resolving equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime. Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on PLC-controlled production machinery, packaging equipment and associated systems. Inspecting equipment and identifying potential faults or issues before they impact production. Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings. Troubleshooting control systems and carrying out detailed fault-finding and root cause analysis. Providing technical expertise to improve plant reliability, performance and efficiency. Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities using the Mobile Maintenance Management System. Updating maintenance records, job plans and technical documentation. Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to support smooth day-to-day operations. Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in line with company policies, health & safety standards and statutory requirements. About You You will ideally have: A minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent. A recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering. At least 3 years' experience within FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing. Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills. Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and control systems. The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Strong understanding of maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. A strong commitment to health and safety. The ability to work effectively across Production, Quality and Engineering functions. Shift Pattern The role operates on a 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights rotation, with plenty of rest time built into the shift pattern. The role also offers excellent overtime rates, providing the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings.
