This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled infrastructure professional to join a growing IT team, supporting and maintaining critical systems while contributing to a range of exciting technology projects. The successful IT Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organisation's IT infrastructure. This position offers exposure to modern technologies, project work, and a hybrid working environment, with the potential to secure a permanent role.
The Role
- Support and maintain server, storage, and infrastructure environments
- Administer Windows Server environments and core Microsoft technologies
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement projects
- Manage virtualised environments using VMware or Hyper-V
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Work closely with Service Desk and wider IT teams to resolve escalated issues
- Ensure infrastructure security best practices are followed
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, or IT Infrastructure Engineer role
- Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments
- Excellent knowledge of: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP, Microsoft 365, Azure
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable
- Previous MSP experience
- Experience with Intune and SCCM
- Exposure to networking technologies including switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Experience with Azure migrations or cloud transformation projects
- Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or Azure certifications
