My client, a global technology provider operating in the communications and financial services space, is hiring an IT Help Desk Engineer (Evening Shift) to join an established support team based in Northern Ireland. This is a newly created role within an existing team, supporting a cloud-based communications and voice platform used by global clients.

You will be part of a global organisation delivering secure, cloud-native communication solutions in a highly regulated environment. As an IT Help Desk Engineer, you will provide first-line technical support, acting as the initial point of contact for client issues. You will support user provisioning, troubleshoot cloud-based voice and connectivity issues, assist with basic hardware support, and ensure a high standard of service delivery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build experience in cloud communications and enterprise technology.

The Person

  • 1+ years' experience in an IT Support / Help Desk / Technical Support role
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience supporting Windows environments
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, VPN)
  • Experience using ticketing systems (Zendesk, Jira, or similar)
  • Exposure to SaaS platforms and cloud-based services
  • Understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts (e.g. SAML)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting voice or communications platforms
  • Familiarity with VoIP / SIP technologies or cloud PBX systems
  • Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
  • Understanding of SLAs, incident management, and escalation processes
