VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an experienced HR Officer for an exciting temporary opportunity within their established HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to gain experience within a highly respected organisation known for its commitment to staff development, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality public services. Please note, this role is fully office-based.
The successful candidate will provide key support across a busy HR function, assisting with HR administration, training coordination, recruitment support, and ongoing transformation projects. This is a varied position offering excellent exposure across multiple HR disciplines.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery and administration of the 2025/26 staff training plan
- Processing training requests and maintaining records using the Personnel Administration Management (PAM) system
- Assisting with training budget monitoring and reporting
- Supporting skills audits and workforce development initiatives for future training planning
- Managing sickness absence records and return-to-work documentation
- Assisting with recruitment and selection processes, including administration of the online recruitment portal
- Supporting the implementation of hybrid working initiatives
- Assisting with HR data migration projects to a new cloud-based HR system
- Supporting wider digital transformation projects, including the digitisation of personnel files
- Providing general HR administrative support and maintaining accurate employee records
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within an HR administration or HR support environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Experience working with HR systems and maintaining accurate records
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Previous experience supporting recruitment, training coordination, or HR projects would be advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (37 hours per week)
