A leading global technology services provider is seeking an experienced End User Engineer to join their growing Belfast-based team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled End User Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality IT support and security solutions within a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This position is initially offered as a 3-month temporary contract, with strong potential for extension or permanency as the organisation continues to expand its long-term IT hub in Belfast.

The Role

As an End User Engineer, you will work closely with clients to understand their technical requirements and deliver tailored solutions across desktop support and security platforms. You will take ownership of complex issues, ensuring they are resolved efficiently while maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand technical needs and recommend effective solutions
  • Lead implementation and support of email and web security platforms (e.g. INKY, Proofpoint, Cisco Umbrella, Mimecast)
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
  • Manage and update tickets within a service desk environment
  • Deliver system deployments independently and collaboratively
  • Document solutions and support knowledge transfer across teams

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong end-to-end troubleshooting capability with minimal supervision
  • Advanced desktop support experience, including escalations
  • Hands-on experience with email/web security platforms (INKY, Proofpoint, Umbrella, Mimecast)
  • Ability to analyse phishing threats and web filtering issues
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced, client-facing environments
  • Flexible approach to working hours and on-call support when required

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in IT support, ideally within an MSP environment
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (security, administration, migration)
  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, and Defender
  • Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure and optimisation
  • Experience with Intune MDM and device management
  • Knowledge of SharePoint administration and migrations
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Understanding of email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)

Desirable

  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. SOC2, HIPAA, HiTrust)
  • Exposure to automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt)
  • Microsoft Azure certifications
