VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a major infrastructure organisation in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in the development and management of HV and LV electrical infrastructure, supporting major capital projects, asset management and energy efficiency initiatives across a large and complex estate.

The Role

  • Lead the development of HV and LV electrical infrastructure in line with long-term strategic plans.
  • Provide technical engineering expertise across electrical infrastructure and major capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain electrical power capacity and capability models to support future development.
  • Lead electrical and M&E projects from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications, tender documentation and procurement activities.
  • Manage and develop the organisation's electricity metering network, supporting energy management and commercial objectives.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ensure electrical safety, legislative compliance and engineering standards are maintained across all projects.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the development of capital budgets and ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project and asset management processes.
  • Experience with procurement, tender documentation and Conditions of Contract.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how technical decisions impact business performance.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide technical leadership.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience within port, estate or large-scale infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous.
