Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Broking Manager to join their leadership team and play a key role in delivering outstanding client outcomes while strengthening insurer relationships.
Role Purpose The Commercial Broking Manager will lead the broking function, providing technical expertise and market insight to support the placement of commercial insurance risks.
Working closely with Account Executives, Business Development Brokers and insurers, you will negotiate competitive terms, oversee complex placements, and ensure clients receive a first-class service.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong commercial awareness, relationship management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced brokerage environment.
Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, developing strategic partnerships to secure the best possible terms for clients.
Assist with renewals and account management across a portfolio of commercial and corporate clients.
Negotiate competitive insurance placements across a range of commercial risks while delivering exceptional client outcomes.
Provide technical guidance and support to Account Executives, Business Development Brokers and the wider brokerage team.
Advise on placement strategy, programme structure, market conditions and risk solutions.
Prepare, review and present insurance quotations, ensuring all terms, conditions and recommendations are clearly documented.
Attend client meetings alongside Account Executives to provide technical expertise and market insight.
Attend insurer meetings, networking events and industry functions to strengthen market relationships and enhance the brokerage's reputation.
Support the ongoing development of the business by identifying new market opportunities and improving internal broking processes.
Work collaboratively across the business to ensure seamless client onboarding, renewals and ongoing servicing.
Assist senior leadership with operational support and the continued development of the broking function.
Essential Criteria Strong experience within commercial insurance broking, underwriting, or a client-facing insurance role.
Previous leadership experience at Team Leader, Senior Broker or Manager level.
Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products and placement strategies.
Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with insurers and clients.
Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of clients' businesses, risk exposures and insurance requirements.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries, renewals and placements simultaneously.
Desirable Existing relationships with insurers operating across Northern Ireland and the UK.
Cert CII qualified or working towards Dip CII/ACII.
Previous experience in a technical commercial insurance role.
