VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading, well-established organisation within the retail and foodservice sector to recruit a Business Development Manager to join their Northern Ireland team. The Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will take ownership of a designated territory, driving commercial performance across sales, margin, profitability and account development. The position will focus on both new business acquisition and strengthening relationships with existing customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive territory performance by achieving and exceeding sales and margin targets
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive management of a prospect pipeline
  • Grow existing accounts by increasing product penetration across chilled, frozen and ambient ranges
  • Monitor and manage customer accounts in line with agreed credit terms
  • Deliver high levels of customer service through consistent communication and effective account management
  • Track competitor activity and provide market insights to support commercial strategy
  • Maintain accurate reporting including sales updates, journey planning and performance tracking
  • Manage time and resources effectively to ensure efficient territory coverage
  • Support wider sales initiatives and campaigns as required
  • Protect and grow account profitability in line with overall business objectives

The Person

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a field-based sales role, ideally within foodservice or FMCG
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Knowledge of catering or foodservice operating models
  • Experience working across multi-temperature product categories
