VANRATH is supporting a thriving services company with the recruitment of an Alarm Engineer to join their fun and friendly team based in Belfast. Position: Permanent, Monday to Friday

Location: Office located near Hannahstown / Andersontown, Belfast

Salary: £31,000 - £42,000 dependent on experience, plus a monthly productivity bonus (averaging £5,000 per year)

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and commissioning fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
  • All work must be completed to the highest standards and comply fully with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and commission both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on fire detection and alarm systems.
  • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and testing in line with BS5839 standards.
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain all necessary documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs when required.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience working as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including addressable platforms such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, and Morley.
  • Thorough understanding of BS5839 and related standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Desirable:

  • FIA or equivalent fire alarm training certification.
  • Experience with emergency lighting systems.
  • Familiarity with additional life safety systems such as access control and CCTV.
