Vanrath are recruiting for a Band 4 Residential Support Worker in a children's home on behalf of a large public sector company in Downpatrick on a temporary basis.

What's in it for you?

  • Full time 37.5hrs
  • Temporary Band 4 Β£14.06ph
  • Shift Days: all i.e Sunday to Saturday
  • Shift Times: ranges from- Waking night shift 10:00pm-8:15am, 8:00-3:30pm and 3:00-10:30pm (Shifts may include a combination of long days, waking nights, and/or sleep-in shifts depending on service needs.)

The Children's Home is a residential home that consists of supporting young people within a two-bedded home. This environment is designed to meet the needs of two young people who reside there requiring continuous support and genuine high-quality care within a structured, child centred and trauma informed environment. Staff must have relevant experience working with young people under 18 in residential care. The client requires staff with motivation and a caring approach to work with young people as part of a team. Required to engage with a range of professionals as part of a care network to support young people and implement care plans.

Service User Profile

  • Age Range: 10-17
  • Diagnosis/Needs: Learning Disabilities, Autism, ADHD and ACE's
  • Behaviours of concern (if applicable): The young people within this home may exhibit behaviours of concern such as physical aggression, self-injury, verbal outbursts, absconding, non-compliance which require teamwork, a trauma-informed, skilled and person-centred approach.

Care Requirements:

  • Individuals may require support with:
  • Personal care
  • Medication administration
  • Emotional and behavioural support
  • Daily living skills- e.g. cooking and cleaning
  • Community access and engagement

About you

Training Requirements

All staff are expected to hold the following essential/desirable training:

  • Safety Intervention Training - Advanced/Emergency preferred however Foundation also acceptable
  • Childrens Safeguarding
  • Infection prevention control training

Staff must be committed to complete relevant e-learning training in line with Trust requirements.
