VANRATH are assisting with the recruitment of a Transport Planner for a major company that specialises in Global Logistics. This is a Full-time position - Night shift hours. Permanent position - Position of work is Ballymena. Salary: Negotiable + Fantastic Benefits package & Growth Opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan load activity based on priorities (orders, location, etc.)
- Monitor customer requests, allocate jobs, and issue instructions
- Keep up to date with transport issues and adjust schedules as needed
- Communicate fleet availability and updates to the wider team
- Liaise with drivers and colleagues to ensure timely collections and deliveries
- Pre-brief and de-brief drivers on nightly runs
- Record collection/delivery statuses and elevate discrepancies appropriately
- Troubleshoot transport-related issues in real-time
The Ideal Person:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent administrative abilities
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent time management and workload prioritisation
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is an advantage not essential
