VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Quantity Surveyor for 6-12 months initially with great likelihood of extension and permanent, based in Ballymena.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be responsible for providing cost management responsibility for a diverse and geographically dispersed team of professional, technical and administrative staff carrying out work across a range of Major and Minor functions within the Infrastructure and Capital Development Division.
- To cost manage and develop projects as part of the portfolio of services outlined.
- To be part of transformational change and implement developing structures, strategy, policy, procedures and processes for these services.
- To take part in the significant ongoing change and harmonisation process across Infrastructure Capital Development Division and the CCUM.
- Be accountable to the CCUM for the effective cost management and delivery of all Major and Minor capital works, with significant input across all sectors.
- Ensure cost planning and delivery of Minor capital projects is in line with policy and complies with DE capital standards.
- Advise and support the CCUM in the development of the strategic direction for these services and work closely with other Managers, Heads of Service, Assistant Directors and the SMT within the Client to ensure that Major and Minor capital development supports the area planning process and is in line with service requirements.
Requirements
- Have a Degree or higher in Quantity Surveying AND have a minimum of three years' demonstrable post-qualification experience in providing a full range of Quantity Surveying services.
- Or be a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS) AND have a minimum of two years' demonstrable post-qualification experience in providing a full range of Quantity Surveying services.
- Or have a minimum of five years' demonstrable experience in providing a full range of Quantity Surveying services.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully providing budget estimates or cost plans for construction projects.
- Demonstrable experience in the NEC or similar Suite of Contracts, including experience in the assessment of NEC or similar Compensation Events and preparation of assessments for payment.
Remuneration
£42,708 per annum, plus discount benefits.
