VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a NEC Supervisor / Clerk of Works for 12 months initially with great likelihood of extension and permanent, based in Armagh.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be responsible to supervise and inspect all building work being carried out on Minor Capital Delivery contracts and carry out related administration using the NEC4 contract suite.
  • To liaise with Key Stakeholders, Project Managers and Contractors to ensure high standards of workmanship and finishes are being maintained during works on site and that all Health and Safety regulations are complied with.
  • The NEC Supervisor is a key person named in the new Engineering and Construction Contract that will be utilised to deliver construction contracts.
  • To check that construction work proceeds according to the programme within the terms of a NEC Contract.
  • To provide independent scrutiny of the works, ensuring the correct materials are used and to the correct standards.
  • Manage the Defects process and has the authority to issue instructions to search for defects.
  • To identify issues/potential issues and prevent them from occurring.
  • To check drawings for errors, discrepancies and divergences and notify the Project Manager.
  • To examine specialist work to ensure required standards are met.
  • To monitor the works, witness any testing, check compliance with the Scope of Works and ensure that all works are carried out in line with the quality defined in the Scope.
  • To monitor the application of specified techniques to ensure that materials are applied correctly to the manufacturer's instruction.
  • To inform the Project Manager of non-conforming work.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed a Building Trades Apprenticeship, or have an equivalent relevant qualification, together with a minimum of five years post apprenticeship/post qualification building site experience of which at least 1 year should have been at foreman management level OR have at least three years relevant Building Clerk of Works experience.
  • Have a current valid driving license and have access to a vehicle appropriately insured and maintained for Business.
  • Have a minimum of two years' demonstrable post-qualification experience in providing a full range of Quantity Surveying services.
  • AccessNI is needed for this role.

Remuneration

£39,862, per annum, plus discount benefits.
