We are currently recruiting for an Application Help Desk Advisor to join a 24/7 service desk team supporting a public sector client in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with tech support experience who enjoys problem-solving, helping users and working as part of a busy technical team.

The role is hybrid, with a rotating shift pattern covering the full 24/7 service. Later and out-of-hours shifts attract additional pay, meaning there is the potential to earn towards the top end of the salary range.

The Role

  • Provide first-line technical support to users, acting as the initial point of contact for IT incidents and service requests.
  • Taking calls, emails and service desk requests.
  • Troubleshooting software, application and access issues.
  • Logging, prioritising and updating incidents within the ITSM system.
  • Password resets and account administration.
  • Troubleshooting basic network and connectivity issues.
  • Escalating more complex technical issues to second-line teams.
  • Keeping users informed throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Following established processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and knowledge articles.

About You

We are looking for an Application Help Desk Advisor with a technical Degree and technical support/customer service experience (can include placement). You should ideally have experience with:

  • Application/System support.
  • Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Incident and request management.
  • Excellent customer service and communication.
  • Strong customer service skills.

24/7 Team

This is a 24/7 team, so you will work on a rotating shift pattern covering days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays where required. The benefit is that later and out-of-hours shifts attract additional pay, providing the opportunity to increase your overall earnings.
