Human Resources Advisor (Public Sector) VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a leading public sector organisation in the recruitment of a Human Resources Advisor to join their busy HR function in Antrim. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established team, supporting people policies across a diverse workforce.

The Role

  • Providing clear, timely, and practical first-line HR advice to managers and employees
  • Representing HR at departmental meetings and supporting managers with people management
  • Participating in recruitment and selection processes as HR lead
  • Preparing job adverts, job descriptions, contracts, and job evaluation documentation
  • Coordinating sickness absence, occupational health referrals, and exit interviews
  • Advising on employment terms, probation, severance, and policy interpretation
  • Supporting the delivery of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring data accuracy across HR systems and compliance with data protection legislation

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing a varied workload.

Essential Criteria

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards this if you can demonstrate 4+ years' relevant HR experience)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a people-focused role with problem-solving responsibilities
  • Experience dealing with internal/external queries, both in person and over the phone
  • Minimum 1 year's experience preparing letters, reports, or HR documentation
  • Strong organisational and digital skills, including the ability to prioritise independently
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills

Other Requirements

  • A full, clean driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments will be made if required due to a disability)
