VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large organisation with the recruitment of a Business Support Assistant to join their team based in Antrim.

About your next employer
You'll be joining a large local authority within its Waste and Sustainability function. The department delivers essential frontline services including household collections, recycling operations and environmental initiatives.
About you
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths (or equivalent) OR 4 years' relevant administrative experience
- At least 2 years' administrative or clerical experience, including minute taking
- Experience in a customer service role with direct contact (phone and face-to-face)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Windows systems
- High attention to detail with strong financial accuracy
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Full driving licence (or access to suitable transport)
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required
What you'll do
- Act as the first point of contact for waste-related enquiries and complaints
- Handle calls, emails, live chat and social media queries
- Process payments, invoices and daily financial reconciliations
- Maintain and update multiple internal databases and reporting systems
- Support fleet, recycling centre and operational reporting processes
- Liaise with contractors to ensure smooth service delivery
- Provide administrative support to managers and senior leadership
- Assist with statutory data reporting and Freedom of Information requests
